I have always dreamt of becoming a doctor in my life. I knew that hard work; focus, sacrifice and discipline were the virtues that I had to develop to attain my ambition. After many years of hard work in school, I was able to get the opportunity to join college. Now as I set foot on college, I feel a new wave blowing in my life, making me get closer to my childhood dream. I am exhilarated to see that the dream I had becoming a reality. Every time I visit hospitals, I always adore the doctors. They all look neat, with their hair well-trimmed, wearing sparkling clean white clothes, carrying a stethoscope around their neck and a medical book in their arms. I adored the way they had self-confidence and soft spoken to both the patients and other people. The opportunity has finally been granted to me. I need to work even harder than before. I need to focus more on my life and achieve my dreams.The book, Gifted Hands, by Ben Carson has been my pillar of success ever since I joined high school. It made me recognize my potential and how I could use that potential within me to benefit the society. Moreover, the book had been my inspiration and acted as a career guide for my ambitions.I adore and respect Ben Carson, he remains to be my mentor and icon.
