Affects of Interest Rates on Consumption in the UK - Dissertation Example Government has so far used interest rate effectively for enhancing the consumption pattern of the consumers in the retail sector. But at present, it seems that lowering the interest rates has become ineffective in the economy. Thus, the objective of the research has been set to find the actual effect of the interest rate changes on the consumption pattern of the people during the period from the year 2004 to 2009. Based on the entire research problem, comprehensive research question has been developed and respective research has been conducted. The section of literature review has provided findings of previous research conducted on the topic. The review findings has added value to the entire research situation. Qualitative research approach has been applied to the research with the aim that the scope can be broadened up. Survey has been conducted on the sample selected from the entire population which is the retailers and consumers of the UK nation. Findings of the survey suggest res ults complacent to the literature review. Along with the answer to research question, few more aspects of the economic nature have also been dealt with in the research paper.
